reCharkha's Basketry Technique is a part of our Completely Handcrafted Origami Collection. Especially designed to utilise medium to hard plastic wrappers that are difficult to weave with our usual Charkha & Handloom.
Artisans hand cut the plastic wrappers into set templates which are turned into particular Origami folds. These separately folded pellets are interlocked together into individual strips. They are arranged into a pattern communicated by our designers and finally joined with minimal stitching!
In this collection you will find some unique designs in the form of Pots, Storage Holders, Coasters and Bags!
Waste Impact: 50 less Plastic bags and wrappers ending up in Landfills and Ocean!
Livelihood Impact: 2-3 days to our tribal Artisans.

We appreciate your understanding of the imperfections in the product, as they are upcycled from waste that is available to us, and that we have less control over the colors and creases on the wrappers!
